Project Overview
Pickl.AI is the educational arm of TransOrg Analytics, a leader in leveraging data to solve business challenges. Pickl.AI was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical and practical data science, addressing a need for applied learning in an industry where many courses focus heavily on theory.
Task
The Pickl.AI website redesign involves creating an intuitive, visually appealing design, focusing on enhancing user experience and course presentation. After finalizing the design, it will be converted into clean, responsive HTML to ensure the website functions smoothly across all devices, offering an optimized experience for desktop, tablet, and mobile users.
Role & Responsibilities
In this project, I wore multiple hats as a UX Researcher, UX Designer, and UI/Visual Designer. My responsibilities included:
- Analyze Current Functionality: Defining Goals and design parameters based on an analysis of current site functionality and user feedback.
- User Surveys: Conducting UX research to understand user needs and uncover insights for improvement.
- UI/UX Design: Create intuitive and visually engaging layouts in Figma.
- HTML Conversion: Convert Figma designs into clean, responsive HTML code.
- Responsive Design: Ensure the website adapts smoothly across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
- Navigation & User Flow: Focus on easy-to-use navigation for a seamless user experience.
- Visual Consistency: Maintain consistent branding and design elements throughout the website.
- Cross-Device Testing: Conduct testing to ensure compatibility and functionality across different screen sizes and browsers.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize HTML code for fast loading times and smooth user interactions.
This end-to-end design process aimed to elevate Pickl.AI’s user experience, aligning with both business objectives and user needs.
The Challenge
The Pickl website faced issues with low conversion rates, poor mobile usability, and overwhelming content, making navigation difficult for users. Learner engagement and retention were low due to a lack of interactive features and unclear course progression, while stiff competition highlighted the need for a more intuitive and standout user experience.
The Solution
To overcome the challenges, the Pickl.AI website was redesigned to enhance usability, engagement, and accessibility:
- Modular Design Approach: Ensured consistent and scalable design elements across all pages.
- Responsive Design: Implemented flexible layouts and media queries for mobile-first design.
- Optimized HTML/CSS: Cleaned and optimized code for better performance and faster load times.
- Cross-Browser Compatibility: Tested and adjusted the design for compatibility across all major browsers.
- Interactive Elements: Integrated interactive features like course progress tracking and quizzes for enhanced user engagement.
- Performance Enhancement: Reduced image sizes and utilized caching for faster website performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Leveraged analytics and user feedback to refine features and resolve pain points.
These improvements aimed to provide a more engaging and efficient learning platform for users.
